The 16th International Conference of the Asian Academy of Preventive Dentistry (AAPD 2024) took place from November 17-19, 2024 at GEM Center, Ho Chi Minh City and was a success. With the theme “Preventive Dentistry in the New Era”, the event brought together more than 70 leading national and international speakers, and was joint by more than 250 participants from all over the world.
An in-depth forum where experts and researchers presented the latest trends, cutting-edge research and digital technology applications in preventive dentistry was created at the conference. Presentations and discussions revolved around major topics such as the application of artificial intelligence (AI), digital diagnostics and the role of technology in oral health management, especially dedicated to children. With many intensive discussion sessions, the conference was not only a place to share information but also promoted cooperation between specialists in the industry, opening up many opportunities for international connections.
Dentists from the Vietnam Pediatric Dentistry Association attended the conference scientific presentations, especially a workshop on the use of Fluoride varnish in the prevention of tooth decay in children in school-based dental care programs. Preventive dentistry and pediatric dentistry are not only closely related but also complement each other to achieve the common goal: protecting oral health from an early age, minimizing disease and improving the quality of life. The combination of preventive methods and specialized care for children is the key to building a future generation with healthy and sustainable smiles.
