Article 9. Members and membership criteria
1. Association members consist of official members and honorary members:
a) Official members: Vietnamese citizens and organizations operating in the field related to Dentistry, meeting the criteria specified in Clause 2 of this Article, agreeing to the Association’s Charter, voluntarily joining the Association, can become official members of the Association;
b) Honorary members: Vietnamese citizens and organizations that do not meet the conditions or the criteria to become official members of the Association, agreeing to the Association’s Charter, are recognized by the Association as honorary members.
Admission procedures, rights and obligations of honorary members are stipulated in the Association’s Charter.
2. Official membership criteria:
– Oral maxillofacial surgeon, dentists, pharmacists, engineers, technicians, nurses and other scientific staff related to Dentistry recognized by the State, who are currently working or have retired and voluntarily apply to join the Association.
– Pay membership fees, have a membership card, and participate in regular scientific activities.
– Vietnamese organizations established in accordance with the law and have legal status, are operating or related to the field of Dentistry.
Article 10. Member’s benefits
1. To have their legitimate rights and interests protected by the Association in accordance with the provisions of law.
2. To be provided with information related to the Association’s field of operation, to participate in activities organized by the Association.
3. To participate in discussions and decisions on the Association’s working policies in accordance with the Association’s regulations; to make recommendations and proposals to competent authorities on issues related to the Association’s field of operation.
4. To attend the Congress, run for election, nomination, and vote for leadership and the Association’s Inspection Committee in accordance with the Association’s regulations.
5. To make recommendation of new members.
6. To be rewarded in accordance with the Association’s regulations.
7. To be granted a membership card.
8. To leave the Association when it is deemed impossible to continue being a member.
9. Honorary members are ensured with the same rights and obligations as official members, except for the right to vote on Association issues and the right to run for election, nomination, and vote for the Association’s leadership and Inspection Committee. Honorary members do not have to pay membership fees.
Article 11. Member’s obligations
1. Strictly comply with the Party’s guidelines and policies, the State’s laws and policies; comply with the Association’s Charter and regulations.
2. Participate in the Association’s activities and movement; unite and cooperate with other members to build a strong and sustainable Association.
3. Protect the Association’s reputation, not to use the Association’s name in transactions, unless assigned in writing by the Association’s leadership.
4. Implement the information and reporting regime according to the Association’s regulations.
5. Participate in the development of the Association’s code of professional ethics
6. Pay membership fees in full and on time according to the Association’s regulations.
7. Perform other obligations when requested by competent authorities.
Article 12. Members admission procedures and authority; procedures for leaving the Association
1. Vietnamese individuals and organizations that meet the conditions prescribed in Article 9 (nine) and apply to join the Association will be recognized as members.
2. Membership will no longer valid in the following cases:
a) Members voluntarily request to leave the Association
b) Members are no longer alive, go missing, violate the law, professional ethics and are banned from practicing by a competent state agency.
c) Members do not participate in Association activities, do not pay membership fees for three consecutive years without a valid reason or are disciplined by being expelled from the Association.
3. The Association’s Standing Committee shall specify the procedures for entering and leaving the Association; and manage the issuance and use of membership cards.
